A Letter from a Founder

This group founded in 2000 was created out of a need that both I had and a perceived need for the local community. Its mission is to provide people of all ilk an opportunity to experience what it is truly like to be in a Dominant/submissive relationship. The group consists of both single individuals and folks who are currently in a relationship. When we discuss a relationship we are talking about all kinds of relationships. One to one, one to many or a group to one. You get the idea :)

We are unlike any group here in Columbus. CORDs focus is on Domination/Submission as a lifestyle. Our goal is to allow its members to fully realize who and what they are. We try and accomplish this in many different ways.

We have several different events. The idea here is the more time we spend together socially the more we get to know one another. This closeness allows us to open up and help each other explore our deepest desires on a much more intimate level. This takes trust and trust takes time.

One of our events is a casual dinner we describe as a Fellowship Dinner. This event occurs at different venues monthly. Basically, it is a casual night out for a bite to eat and an evening with friends who share common interests and goals.

Another event we have is a monthly round table. This event sees us gathering at someone's home to discuss D/s related topics. Our goal here is to discuss D/s issues and see how other people have handled them or how they see a specific idea would work. A topic is proposed and brought to the group for discussion. This event was originally set to last one hour but always went way over so now it is scheduled for two. We have had some great topics in the past. Some examples are:

  • What's love got to do with it?
  • What do Dominants seek in a sub/ How can I be a better sub?
  • D/s - what's next?
  • Rules and Expectations
  • Consistency
  • Protocol
  • D/s Challenges

Another event is our "High Protocol event". This event allows our members to participate in an evening that has structure and formality to it. The idea is to allow our members to interact with others, as we would like to live, if we had all the money in the world, just like our fantasy books.

We are considering bumping this up a bit and having an advanced High Protocol event; this is in its planning stages at this time.

We are also working on a set of retreats where the focus will be D/s as a lifestyle and building trust within each other. This will consist of several small workshops leading up to and including a full weekend away to fully explore your self on a very intimate level. This is something new for us and is in the planning stages as well.

As you can see CORDs is a busy little group, on top of all these things we have several fun events we like to throw in as well. Examples are:

  • Casino Nights
  • Euchre Nights
  • Midnight "Extreme" bowling, there is a whole story to that one
  • Fall Hayrides
  • Summer Moonlight Canoe trips
  • Scene parties
  • And of course our Annual Christmas Bash

All in all very busy, but still with the idea the more time we spend together the better we get to know one another.

It's a little harder to get into CORDs than other groups as we have a sponsorship program in place. It is more difficult in part by design. The group has worked very hard to ensure that only people who have a true desire to live or be involved in a D/s relationship get to participate. Our main expectation of the membership is participation. If this is something you need then CORDs is the group for you. We have no fees or dues to be paid. If you would like to know more about membership please feel free to ask or email me and I will be happy to answer any questions.

What CORDs is not is a sex club, or a place to pick somebody up for casual play. It is a place to be amongst friends and discover the true you.
